We're at Grandmother and Grampas House!

Hello from Michigan!

I'm with the boys at my parent's house for our annual trip. We're here for only two weeks this year so we've been busy doing nothing and then some.

The first day we were here, the water in the pool was so inviting, Josh had to jump in with his clothes on!

So good I had to jump in with my clothes on!

We've also had ice cream....

Been to the zoo...

And Grandmother and Grampa also bought the kids their first ever pets. Two goldfish named "Goldie" and "Goldie 3"

Don't touch our fish!

Why Goldie 3 you ask? Well the boys were trying to decide what to name their fish and Josh suggested "Goldie" for his and "Fishy" for Sam. And since Sam has to do the same thing as Josh, he also wanted his named "Goldie" (of course). So I suggested "Goldie 1 and Goldie 2." Sam replied, "No, mine is Goldie 3 because I'm 3." So, that's the story behind the names...

And today we went fishing! We fished from the dock and the boat for fun. We caught lots of sunnies... and then we went to the trout pond and caught lunch (I even contributed by catching my first fish in well over 20 years).

Lunch

It was so delicous! I'm sorry I didn't get a picture like I did last year... but it was every bit as good!

We are having a great time and can't believe our first week is almost over. Next week three of my sister's four girls are coming and it's sure to be a zoo with five kids (ages 7 1/2, 7, 5, 3 1/2 and 14 months) and only three adults (ages not disclosed).

I have a feeling it will be fun, but lots of tired people in the house come bed times!

More pictures from our trip are here.

  1. Ooh, I'm with Josh, who can resist jumping straight into the pool on a hot day.

Yumm, ice cream and catching your own fish for lunch!

Who found the 4 leaf clover? Looks like everyone is having a great time!

  2. Mmmmm, sunnies are delicious.

My Grandma was from Sault St. Marie Michigan and her name was Goldie!

She was not a goldfish, but she ended up having golden blonde hair, lucky for her parents.

did you sing the Michigan song from Easter Parade on your way to Michigan?
