Rockfest

This weekend I took the boys up to the Tellus Museum. They were having their annual “Rockfest.”

Rich had to work so the boys and I decided to go up and have fun!

There were all sorts of fun things for the kids to do.

They got a free crystal from one of the vendors.

 

There was a man from Tellus taking pictures and he tweeted a picture very similar to this – and posted several pictures of the boys on the Tellus Museum’s Facebook Wall.

There were lots of special activities for the kids -

They colored on Tellus shopping bags, got tattoos, made “rock star” necklaces, decorated “slap bracelets” (which have been the bane of my existence), and played rock Bingo! Of course we took the time to go gem panning & fossil digging as well! There was a tent outside for members to have free popcorn and water – and we took advantage of that.

We even went to see the new planetarium show called “Planetary Thrill Rides.” It was so cool! It was like being on rollercoasters in space. The boys and I loved it – but I decided it was a good think Rich was not with us! The motion sickness would have done him in!

It was a great way to spend a Sunday morning.  I’m so glad we got up and went before it got to hot and crowded.

By the time we were done, Rich got home and we were able to enjoy lunch together – Rich had made hotdogs on the barbie!
