Busy Body's, Updates and a Give Away

Lots of little bits and pieces today. Just some general ramblings.

Sam is still under the weather. I brought him to the doctor today since he's had a temperature and cold for 3 days now. It's just a cold so there is nothing we can do but give it time and cough medicine. He is not too happy about the cough medicine. When we got home from the doctor I tried to give him some and he cried, "I'm tired and want a nap!" Then promptly ran upstairs, got in bed, put his covers on him and fell asleep -- where he is now.

Anyway, you may recall I mentioned yesterday that Josh had his musical yesterday. It was "The Little Bell Who Would Not Ring." It was very cute. Josh did really well. He said his lines clearly and loud enough to hear. He was Mr. Fidget up there though -- he played with his hands, his nose, his costume... everything. And to top it off, he yawned several
times on stage. While he was supposed to be singing. I think the excitement got to him.

I did try to get some video -- but there are lots of people in the way. A friend of ours was in the front row and promised to make us a copy of the video they took.

This weekend is shaping up to be a busy one. We've got our local Christmas Parade and we're planning on bagging up more leaves. It's going to be about 70 degrees here so it should be good to be outside getting some fresh air. It's also the last two days of my neighborhood weight loss competition. I
am so ready for that to be over.

My Moment Wednesday

I see her almost every day. Walking. Pushing her stroller up and down the street. Sometimes, in the evening, her husband is with her. Sometimes I see her several times a day.

Every time I see her it brings me back 5 1/2 - 6 years when Josh was a baby.

I have such clear memories of pushing Josh in his stroller to get him to sleep. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. But it got us out of the house and into the fresh air. Well, we were in London so it was usually raining, but it was fresh!

I can remember pushing him along our neighborhood, talking to him, showing him the many houses and flowers and trees. Anything to get him to sleep. Walking and walking.

Now, he's six. I can't push him in a stroller anymore. Sam never needed any help getting to sleep, he still doesn't. I never would have believed if you'd told me I would miss those days.

So when I see her, pushing her little girl around the block I smile and send her a little telepathic message... "Remember these days... They will be over before you know it!"

Love Thursday

And just as I was wondering what to post about, I get an email from my dad. Here it is:

I just have to tell you again how much I enjoy reading your

My Moment Wednesday

It's My Moment Wednesday over at Maya's Mom where we are encouraged every week to take time for ourselves. Our moment.

This week has been kind of tough. First week of school. Josh was home yesterday sick so the boys were, of course, at each other most of the day. Plus, I have had an awful sore throat, so that didn't help with my disposition (the sore throat seems to be better today though...)

We bought a new TV this weekend. So my moment has been after the kids are in bed, Rich and I have been watching movies we have and so on and so forth on it. I don't think I've been to bed before 10:00 since we got it -- and that's late for me!!!!

Last night we popped a U2 video in -- it was like a concert!

I'm surprised Josh didn't come down to tell us to "turn it down!" (He's done that before!)
