Now It's Josh's Turn

Last year, about this time, Sam broke his leg.

Josh was at a sleep over last night at a friend's house.

I got a call at 6:00 this morning that Josh was a bit home sick and had been crying all night so I went to pick him up. As I was walking out the door, the mom told me he'd fallen down the steps in the afternoon, but appeared to be fine.

As soon as we got in the car, Josh was complaining about how he couldn't move his arm, how it hurt so badly he couldn't sleep -- or eat his pizza for dinner!

Mom's radar went off. We got home, told Daddy and went straight to the E.R.

Sure enough, Josh has a small fracture on a bone at the base of the elbow. It's on his "upper arm" not the forearm, so he's going to need a full arm cast -- hopefully we'll get that tomorrow.

Josh is most upset because he's going to miss his FIRST baseball game on Saturday -- and probably 3 more after that! When I said he could still go to the games and show some support for his team, he said, "But Mom! It's boring if you're not playing!"

So tomorrow watch this space for pictures of Josh's cast?

Any guesses on the color he'll choose?

  1. Poor Josh! That really sucks for him. The other boys mother didn't find it odd that that he wasn't eating or anything, hmmm. I hope is doing alright.

  2. Poor guy!!!

    It's always something, isn't it!?

  3. Oh poor Josh. I hope he gets a great color cast for his arm.

  4. Aw poor Josh! It's no wonder he seemed homesick - his arm was hurting him really bad!

Maybe a cool blue cast (and some pain reliever) will help!

  5. Wow, poor Josh!! I say a blue cast too! Lil' man...hope he's doing ok!

  6. That sucks!! He has to miss baseball & everything!!! Poor kid!!

  7. OMG. Bless his heart. I can't believe how strong he is to have gone all that time before going to the doctor.

  8. Awww! Poor Josh. And what awful timing. I'm with Jess -- how weird that the other mom didn't pick up on anything earlier. Good thing your radar is working fine. Hope he has a quick recovery.

  9. Oh no! I hope he heals up quick!

I broke my leg when I was 6 at the beginning of summer...that was such a drag!

  10. oh my gosh!

what do you say to the mom now after your kid broke his arm at her house? i mean, ya know...that would be akward.

i hope his arm feels better soon and doesn't start to itch with the cast on for a while.

Yay! Comments! Thanks for letting me know you were here!
