Any Excuse to Get Menchies!

We had such a busy weekend!

Last week Josh had the CRCT Testing in school – that’s our state test that is supposed to measure how well the students are doing. They are a crock if you ask me, but we have to do them.

The poor kids and teachers get so stressed out by them; I’m always glad when they are over.

The CRCT’s were last week and they finished up yesterday.

This weekend was the The Big Shanty Festival here in Downtown Kennesaw. It  is so much fun – we go every year. But this year, I had a Pampered Chef booth and Rich was working, so we didn’t get to see the parade and the kids didn’t get to spend much time there.

Here are some pictures of my booth…  Recently Updated1

That’s my friend and fellow PC  Teammate Sandra in the booth! She’s awesome!

The girls from the Atlanta Beat were right next to my booth! I was going to go ask them if I could get a picture, but they had gone by the time my shift was done, so this is the best I have.  They are the girls in red. The were juggling the balls.

When my shift was done on Sunday, I came and got the boys and we went down for about an hour to look around. They got “tattoo’s.”

They were actually face painting, but the boys wanted the cool dragons so she put them on their arms.

We didn’t have much time to look around. Josh had a Cub Scout meeting. But we did get to look around and get a good idea of what was there.

I think I said, “No we can’t buy that,” more times in an hour than I do at the Grocery Store!

I’m such a meany!

With Rich working all weekend and me gone, the boys had a pretty boring weekend sitting around the house not doing much of anything. And Josh still had one day of testing that he had to study for.

Poor kids needed a pick-me-up on Monday after school so I promised to take them to Menchies after school.

They had to twist my arm… NOT!

April 2011

If you don’t know Menchies, you should! It’s a frozen yogurt place that has tons of flavors and toppings. You go pick out what you want, put it in your cup and mix whatever toppings you want. You pay by the ounce so I have to make sure they don’t go over board!

You can taste as much as you want so part of it is going up and tasting all the yummy samples until you know just what flavor you want.

Josh had Red Velvet & Cake Batter mixed together and just about every topping there was.

Sam was extra daring and went for the Chocolate & French Vanilla swirled together – with no toppings. But he did taste several flavors so he gets credit.

I had the coffee flavor with chocolate syrup. Like my own little mocha latte in a bowl!

Poor Dad had to work (again!) but not to worry, we got some to bring home to him. And we talked about what flavors he’d like. How much Grandmother & Grampa would like this place… well Grampa more than Grandmother, but we know she’d come too!

So now I need an “excuse” to bring the kids back… maybe I’ll tell them the Easter Bunny may have hid eggs at Menchies….

  2. Hi Mimi,
We just got back from Jammer's Custard store.I had a small hot fudge w/ vanilla. So I am with Sam on this one. Mom had strawberry with almond honey. So I can't wait to get there for Menchies. I am looking forward to trying it out -- tell the boys.
We are so happy to see the blog!
    Love, Dad
