Yeah, I Am Hip Hop…

Or at least I was on Saturday!

Saturday was super busy – we had so much going on and it will take me a while to catch up.

We went to a friend’s birthday party on Saturday.  Greg is the owner/director/founder of World Hip Hop Market. So he “knows people.”

He decided to have a bash for his 40th birthday and invite his Hip Hop recording artist friends to come perform and he invited all his friends and their families to come help celebrate. 

 

This was also a benefit concert for JSP Foundation.  Greg lost his wife Anita about a year an a half ago and JSP Foundation helped Greg and his kids through the grief. The turn out was amazing and hopefully he raised a fair amount of money for them.

It was a rockin’ good time… or a hip, hoppin’ good time.

Josh had another sleep over birthday party at a friends house, so he didn’t come. But Rich, Sam and I went and had lots of fun!

Greg had the Game Truck there for the kids to play games,

Face painting… I even got my arm done (and I’m still trying to get the black to go away)

And lots of inflatable bouncies.  Sam had a great time running around with his friends going from bouncy to bouncy.

He was so excited to do the rock climbing wall.

I was a bit nervous and told him that lots of the kids that were older than him couldn’t even make it to the top, so not to worry, just do his best.

So, let’s see how he did.

The Cake….

After the Family Party, he had an adults only party at our club house. 

We got a babysitter and went back to that for a few hours.

I didn’t get many pictures, but my friend Summer of Captures by Summer was there taking professional pictures. I will post links when she has them up. She’s so awesome. Her pictures will be great!

I will confess, I’m not much of a Hip Hop follower, but just in case you are, the artists he had at his party were:  Eternia, The ReMinders, Bocafloja, Baba Israel (we spent quite a while talking to him, super nice guy who now lives in Manchester, England), DJ Boo & Chesney Snow, all backed by Roots and Grooves, a live hip hop band from New York!

It was lots of fun and for a good cause!
