It seems like about once a week, I look over and say to Rich, "Do you think the elves will come tonight to do the dishes?"
Granted, this usually happens after glass of wine or two when I'm really tired, but alas, they have yet to show up.
Until the other night....
I was tired. I could feel a cold coming on (again). Dinner was over and it was time to do the dishes... but the dishwasher was still running.
I told the kids we'd have to stack the dishes and I'd do them later.
Then Josh turned into an elf.
He decided he wanted to do the dishes.
The old fashioned way.
It wasn't long before Sam decided he wanted to do it too.
Josh thought it was fun ....
Now, I can't do the dishes without Sam "helping."
I'm trying to look on the "bright side" that they want to help. And not the fact that it makes it near impossible to do the dishes, empty the dishwasher or get anything done.
What adorable little elves! We have a pic too somewhere of brother and me (knees on the chair) doing the dishes! Sis never had too, she was too little! Anyway.....how cute!
ReplyDeleteHow cute!! Once when I was sick, I had my kids do the dishes that didn't make it into the dishwasher. Now whenever it happens they argue about who gets to scrub - for now they both enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteHa...yes, I can imagine it takes a little "longer" this way. Buddha has to "help" me unload the dishwasher, which turns into quite the production! LOL~ Hey, at least they wanna help, right? Perhaps you could just dictate directions from a chair with that vino? ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's great!
ReplyDeleteVery sweet! Love the pictures! Hopefully they stay helpful, huh?
ReplyDeleteTake advantage of it. Believe me this will not last long. But it is really cute.
ReplyDeleteLucky you :)
ReplyDeleteAwwww, how sweet. Maybe your elves can school my elves. Lucky you!
